11th-Oct-2009 03:29 pm - Engagement/Goodbye party
hat
Since even my dear (beside all my friends) has started pressuring (XDD) me to write some blog entries, here you go:

Germany:

So, first of all, the day of my dear coming over started with a train which supposedly should start on 3.15 am or something. Of course....it was like half an hour late (and it was quite cold that morning).
(The day before my dear called and said his flight by China Airlines was suddenly cancelled...so he took it upon him to use the much longer flight connection over Thailand and Holland), thank you so much my dear! <333)

So, after 8 hours of waiting at Frankfurt Airport (Gosh, was that boring, I tell you. I kept almost falling asleep every 2 minutes and tried to find something to do...explored the airport a bit only to have something to do...)...FINALLY I could see and hug my dear again! YAY! <3333333333

Later we met our helper guy for the party in Frankford, then travelled to Cologne and had some dinner, sat down at the river and in the night took the night train to Munich. It said "deluxe compartment" at the Deutsche Bahn page but that was a lie! The price was very high and then I could first of all, not really sleep in there and 2nd-ly, only one person could get dressed at time and the other had to crawl into the bed while that. That's how small that "deluxe" compartment was....BAH!

Anyway, that day until Friday dear Momo-chan gave us a room at her home. Thank you so much! <333

So we went shopping (presents and kitchen stuff of which my dear thought you might not get them in Taiwan (of which half the time I told him I am SURE they also have that in Taiwan but no, somebody does not listen to me...and then, coming to taiwan and cruising through some shop we also saw some similar items....HARHARHAR! I was right!  XDD) and later took some funny pictures with Momo-chan as well as had lunch at Sushi Sanos'. :DD

Friday we caught the train to Nuremberg where we had like 2 hours in the city, lol. Like we walked a little bit around in the area near the central station and had some lunch XD oh wells~
Around 2pm we arrived in my family's hometown and checked in at our Hotel.

Later this day we took the bus to get to my family's home, also to get the snacks and candy my dear had sent before which should be a surprise at the party. (taiwanese snacks/candy) We had some tea time with my family and after some hours went back to our hotel to check on certain things for the party which was due the following day.

The next morning we stood up quite early, quickly ate breakfast and then decorated the room we rented for our Engagement/Goodbye-Party.

Here some details:

(All the decoration items were provided by my dear mom <3 (thank you so much). The decoration was done by us though. :D)

Soon our helpers arrived, as well as Mrs. Lee, who was our translator at this event, also later.

The party was well received by my friends and family, I do believe. The buffet was good and everyone liked the backed apples very much, haha. (dessert)

Highlights:

1. The carriage:

2. My dear gave me the ring:

3. The poliaroid photos were <3 (good idea, my dear!) XD

4. The photobook of my dear friends and also the watch were such sweet presents! T_______T

(with "Buddies for life" written on it inside!!! <3)

5. My grandpa's joke when I was crying over the goodbye and lovely present: "What's up? The onions got you, or what?"
Everyone: ROFL!!!

(my family, only my sister is missing :O)

6. Okay, not really a "highlight" but...saying goodbye to my friends T_____T

7. Going to my family later that evening (with translator)

Here some general pictures of the party I chose:

Miss you all, my dear family and friends! <3 LOVE you! *huggles ALL* <333333333333

And to close this entry, the most suitable picture comes from my dear:

A few days after that party we flew~~~~ over to Taiwan. ^_____^

Let's see what new things await me here. ^^

4th May

At 4th May (Monday) we had to get up early again to catch the train (High Speed Train 台灣高速鐵路) from Hsinchu to Taipei and then from Taipei by another train called TRA (台灣鐵路管理局) to Hualien ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hualien_City ).

After reaching the train station we were looking for a shuttle to the hotel but there was none so we took a cab and since we wanted to go to Farglory Ocean Park ( www.farglory-oceanpark.com.tw/index.php  )  (where my dear had made reservations for 3pm for the "Swimming the dolphin" and we had to check in at our Hotel (which was situated on a hill above the park), he told the cab driver to be quick and he will get an extra fee. This resulted in passing cars on the left side, passing cars where you are not allowed to pass them, driving over a red traffic light and stuff. (I was quite scared, also since you are lucky if you find the part of the seat belts to fasten it in a taiwanese taxi. I only saw 1 !!! taxi of all the cabs we took (which were quite some))

Soon we arrived at the hotel (Hualien Farglory Hotel: www.farglory-hotel.com.tw/index.php and checked in. When I entered the hotel I was like: O____O

I should post some pictures so that you know why:

I mean like: OMG!!!! *shock*

Anyway, we quickly got to our room (where our luggage was waiting for us) and put on the swimming clothes to get to the shuttle to the Ocean Park and off we went.

Here you go with some pictures of us swimming and having fun with the dolphin. ^^ It was amazing! *__*

(Rescue~ dolphin)

*chuu~*

After that ended, we got to take a shower at the location (where my dear showered his shoes by accident too, looool. I laughed so much XDD) Later we quickly got back to the hotel for dinner. (all you can eat at such a hotel = OMG, so many things to try and even an "Open Kitchen" where you could ask them for some things to cook too). I ate so much...maybe too much. >_< But it was all (well overall) so yummi. I could not resist.  XDD

Later we took off to get to Hualien city for some night market shopping, yay! He bought me some cute pink jacket X3) and we ate some nice food, also these nice strawberry balls (??):

(and no, it's not plastic XDD)

Soon it was late so we headed back to the hotel to enjoy the super view from there high above. It was gorgeous and there we sat for some time, just watching the far away city lights (now that I think of it, after taking Meilin home we went to a nice place where you could drink a tea and stuff and have some nice waffles with honey (yummi! *_*) and there was a very nice night view too but not as gorgeous).

A pity the bathroom at that hotel wasn't as big as the one in Sunview Motel. XDD

5th May

Oh yes, this was a kinda bad day...>_<°°° I woke up and felt a bit sick (like I had to throw up) so after thinking if I should tell my dear or not, I decided I would. He was very worried right away and offered to take a cab to go to a doctor or hospital in Hualien city. I was a bit hesitant but since I still felt bad after half and hour (and taking a coal pill) we had to make a "quick-check-out" of this awesome hotel (sorry dear!). >_<

He quickly helped me into the taxi and asked the driver to get us to a good doctor. The guy recommended a doc who had once been the manager of a hospital so this should be fine, we thought.

As the doc examined me, my stomach began to hurt more and I thought I had cramps, also got very nervous which resulted in an almost-faint. As I came back to me, I just heard the doc saying "Don't be so nervous." and my dear holding me tightly so I would not fall off the chair. T__T <3
After the doctor was ready examining me, he told some things my dear should take care of concerning me and said that I maybe got a cold (well, I think it was just cuz of too much food and maybe some sea food that didn't do well with my stomach since I had only a slight fever and said bad feeling/feeling like to have to vomit and a few cramps so...^^° Further more I didn't sleep well because of the snoring of someone *coughs* so that made me weaker too.).
Anyway, the whole time my dear was supporting me very much but after some time I felt like having to lie down in the further part of the doc office so I did.
My dear quickly got the medicine for me and a mask, also rushed to the still waiting cab driver and got our luggage.
After taking over half of the medicine the doctor prescribed, I had to really throw up...=_=° (only water though cuz that was the only thing I had in my stomach this morning) but fortunately I felt better afterwards. The only thing remaining the slight fever.

We got into a cab later on and into the train (I had to wear that mask all the time so I felt strange...if you know what I mean. Only ill people or people who are super careful wore them...so my dear put on one too, so that I won't feel too bad. T___T <3).

As we reached Taipei he quickly put our luggage in a locker at the mainstation and got into a cheap but clean hotel for me to sleep some more and we hoped that also the fever would be lower afterwards. Sadly that didn't happen so in the end he offered to take me to Taipei best hospital...
Since I am a foreigner, they right away put me in the H1N1 area.........=_=°°° But after some hours (and a H1N1 specialist lady with very good English coming (not to mention other tests) they released me with a fever reducing medicine as well as one for when I feel like vomitting.

At that time my dear talked to the doctors so many times, told them I can't have it and to make them working quicker, did all the paperwork and paid for everything.
He even called Meilin and KK because they know English better than him (which resulted in KK's mom coming over to support me), supporting me so much and telling me he was about to cry when I had that little "almost-faint"....he really did so many things for me...I was so touched and had to struggle not to cry because of his kindness.

Also, I want to thank KK's mom so much! I don't think it is very common for a mom I never have met to come to a H1N1 patient...
Also KK later wrote me an email (she was not in Taipei so she couldn't come) where she said she was sorry not to be able to be there for me.

T__________________T Sometimes I wonder how can anyone care to that extent about me....to be that kind...gosh, I am only home over half a day and miss him so much.
(as said, I can't even properly describe everything that happened and stuff...)

Oh, and his mom was even blaming him for not having taken care enough of me (though I know it was not his fault)...
Also his dad was very worried. He seems the quiet type but inside he is a very kind man.

ANYWAY, after I was released, my fever was down a bit and after taking the medicine it got even better so we decided we would not drive back to his family home but go to the WeGo! hotel ( www.we-go.com.tw/linsen/index.aspx ) he had booked for this evening (and buying some healthy fruits and stuff at 7eleven (I really like those shops!!!).

Here some pics! A really nice hotel too with really nice bathroom :D

(oh and from this day my dear kept sleeping in another room so I could get some proper sleep (even in the bathroom if there was nothing else left..T___T). And as you can imagine, since there were almost everywhere double beds, he didn't have a proper blanket either. >_< So sorry dear! )

6th May

On our way to Táizhōng (the city where my dear's brother is studying, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taichung ) we made a stop at more outsite part of Taipei (I do believe...?). Anyway, there we suddenly saw another WeGo! hotel, haha!

But actually we intended to go to a nice department store where we looked around but didn't find much special things so we went up to the 3D-movie theater to get some tickets. Since we had some time left and were bored, we tried one of those moving huge animals there. A pity we didn't take a picture of them lol.

Later we watched a movie called "Monsters vs. Aliens" I do believe. It was funny and well made, though only with chinese dub but the movie wasn't that deep so lol, it was fine.

Finally there was a ferris wheel at the 2nd to the top floor so we tried this one of course too. X3~ Ah~ it was so nice~

Arriving at Táizhōng (with High Speed Train 台灣高速鐵路 again) and taking the bus we tried to find the area where the photo studios are at but failed a little bit so we took a cab and the nice driver drove us there. We ended up at some studio called LA FÉE ( http://www.lafee.com.tw/ ) (since my dear said we could take some photos at such a studio but at Taipei it was too early. Those studios oddly only take picutres in the afternoon/evening...I wonder why.

The pictures came out VERY well and unexpected to me. O___O As some of you already might have seen at facebook. I was so surprised and those pictures I have posted so far are not photoshopped or anything.
So far we only have the raw shoot from the place. The books for us will be ready next week or so. (uh, it was pretty expensive, good thing someone else than me paid. O__O°°°)

If you are at facebook, you can see a few here: www.facebook.com/notifications.php#/album.php

Sadly that photoshoot took so long that we weren't able to meet my dear's brother (but we met him on the weekends anyway since he comes back home on those) and also could not go to the famous Táizhōng night market ....T___T

Well, we checked in at our hotel (which had the largest bathroom I have ever seen...):

7th May

On that day it was time to go for Kaoshiung and the Hello Kitty Hotel!!! :D~

It was pretty hot down there in the south of Taiwan and because of a very nice woman we luckily found the right bus to take us to the "Grand" Hi-Lai Hotel, yay.

And again, when I stepped into that hotel I was like: OMG!!!!!!!!!!! O_____O *stares*

Anyway! After the check-in process we walked up and checked out our room:

Lol, really! Everything was hello-kitty-lized. Even the toilet! XDD I was surprised they didn't have Hello Kitty toilet paper! XDDD

We put down our luggage and left to get something to eat:

And later were able to use the Hello Kitty car shuttle to a big department store with a quite big Hello Kitty corner. ^^

We were just walking through the department store as my dear saw a shop where you could make your "Mini-Me" teddy! :D Here's the result:

Soon it was time to have dinner so we went to the nice restaurant in our hotel, which was situated next to a pool (of course inside and the pool was outside):

As it was already dark outside we got into a cab and my dear asked the driver if there is any nice place near (for couples I think) so the nice guy drove us to a boat port:

So we had a little tour around that area on the water. X33 So nice~

After this we took a cab to a very nice place near the port. We had to use a loooong staircase to get up there but the view was awesome:

8th May

At this day it was time to drive back to my dear's home. ^^ After putting our luggage back home, we took off to see some real Hakka culture:

And try Hakka tea! Yummi!!! :D

Later we drove a bit further and more on the country side:

It was so nice there! X33~

In the evening though we went to a nice hotspring not far away:

...and that's how this wonderful week ended. In at a nice hotspring to chill out and relax. Ah~ (*___*)

-------------

PS: Dear KK pointed out a few things to me which I didn't know in the last post:
"The first photo, you know the icy sweet, the purple chewy stuff is taro starch ball, and the orange chewy stuff is yam starch ball.
And the last photo, I dunno if they call it bubble tea in english, but directly translating it is pearl milk tea (the pearls are starch balls again). and it's called tabioka-miruku-tea in japanese
."

Thanks so much dear!  ^___^v Now we know it all!
3rd-May-2009 09:49 am - Taiwan (30th April till 3rd May)
fun
30th April:

Okay, I will try to put in some of the things I have experienced here so far, haha...overall it's so nice, well some special person is so nice! *touched*
(I really can't tell all the things he is doing for me....O_O I would be writing for too long lol This "report won't even cover half of what happened, I am afraid...>_<))

So, first day here, arriving around 6.20 am in Taiwan, I was lucky to not have to fill out any custom stuff, yay! They just let me through. :D

As promised, my dear was wating in the arrival hall (<3) with some present and a "M. welcome to Taiwan" note. :D
So we just drove from Taipei Taoyuan airport to his home, and was able to get some sleep.
Before he gave me a small town tour on the scooter (that was because the bank was still closed (too early since it was still early in the morning XD)...
Well, we drove back for me to get some sleep and getting the money change later on.

After asking at several banks in Jhudong Township (and they denied to change it cuz they feared it wouldn't be real US dollar...) we drove to the next town and finally were lucky at a bigger subsidiary (??) of his bank. ^^°°

Later we got some icecream (special taiwanese ice mixture with black gelantine (??) and some other stuff I don't know what it was...)

Soon it was time for the hairdresser (a cousin of my dear)!! Straight hair, yay!!!  (and a little different cut)<3 His cousin was really very careful to my hair and I can't believe how nice it looks now (though it seems as it gets lardy (?) faster....).
We even took a photo together. His cousin is a real nice guy too, just as him. Good thing he knew some English too, haha. (it was 3 hours until I could leave there...and I had to go to the toilet 3 times too...=_=°)

A Ben (the hairdresser) and me:

Evening came soon and my dear asked what I would like to eat, we ended up at a Japanese restaurant nearby. Really yummi food and nice atmosphere. (gosh, I was so full....)

He lead me to a shop of his friend later on (who was selling Japanese clothes) and we tried a few things, ending up with a hat for me, lol. XD (he likes it so much)

Then he took me to a massage house, (they are opened from 9 am (I think) till 4 am!!!!!!!) O_O
Anyway, ouch! Some times it was a bit too hard for me eventhough he told her to be softer....>_< The follwing 2 days I could still feel a little pain in some areas...though she was very competend, I think. She right away realized I was sitting often at work and that I was typing much there. Well, she tried her best to make it better, I hope it worked. (it hurt for sure...so I hope it was not all for nothing).
It was past 12 when we left there to go back to his home. O_o (and tried to fall asleep which was a little bit difficult for one reason ...)

1st May

This day he got up early (6.30 am...) to help his father a bit in the morning in their shop and later, after getting some taiwanese breakfast (don't ask me what it was, I wouldn't know) we drove to Hsinchu train station to take the Taiwan High Speed Rail (HSR, 高鐵 gāotiě) to Taipei.

Around 25 to 30 minutes later we were in Taipei ( wikitravel.org/en/Image:TaiwanHighSpeedRail_Route_en.gif )

We took the subway (where it is not allowed to eat or drink, not even chewing gum...O_o!!!) and got off near a nice icecream and fruity stuff Cafe (besides he bought me some T-shirts).

After that we got to some big shopping malls, in one of them a few friend of his were working and of course we went there too. ^^ (I got some presents for friends there too.)

Finally we were able to take the LOVE picture!!!! (though it was very windy around that building...(101 actually lol):

Then it was time for TAIPEI 101 (speak: one Oh one)!!!! ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taipei_101 )
The elevator is unbelievably fast! Like ..30 (?) (Fastest ascending elevator speed: 16.83 m/s (55.22 ft/s) (60.6 km/h, 37.7 mi/h)!)  seconds to get to the top!!!
There we looked around and my dear told me a bit about the buildings and stuff (besides having a moderated record), I got some goods for friends and me, we took a picture (it is like u take a picture together and then they put in in a pre-made picture of the 101 buliding). <3

When we went up to the 91th floor (very windy out there, brrrrr >_<) we went into some presentation room and after I was back from the toilet, he gave me a very nice present (on the top of the highest building (it is still counted as this until September 09) he gave me a shining chrystal >///////<.) His one is shining blue, mine red. *dead*

*takes deep breath in*

Anyway!!! XD We had some time left until we would meet his cousin (KK, she is so cute!!!) and her boyfriend for a BBQ dinner, so we just went to another shopping mall, saw a street artist (and tried to solve the problem of our both low and lower getting mobile batteries.....>_<°) until it was almost too late so we had to take a cab. XD

Luckily we made it in time so we had a nice and funny time (with lots of pictures) at the BBQ restaurant. KK is so stylish and nice (and her English (spoken) is also very good). <3 She's so cute!!! <3

Soon it was time to get to the train and home to get some sleep (until 6.30 am...) for the weekend.

2nd May

This morning my dear actually wanted me to help his father and him a bit but then his father said, I should not worry so I was sent to the room near by to read or whatever (I chose to sleep though cuz of some reason (the same again than the previous night, I didn't get too much sleep, and NO, it's not what you are thinking...it's a quite common reason among men.)

But later his mother came by (she knows a little English (I am so glad, even if it's just a few words) and asked: "shopping?" and I was thinking, to the traditional market and to get some fresh vegetables or other stuff from there...) but no, she was buying me things!!!! O________O I was like: Nooo! I feel bad if everybody keeps buying me things (like hairclips and stuff). I don't feel worthy...T__T Later she actually bought some eating stuff (phew).

Well, you have to have been there to know how it is....

After that I helped his mom with some things and though it was not easy to comminucate without language, we did quite well. ^^

(his mom and me cooking...XD)

In the evening we (his family, him and me) went out to a somewhat european but also US-themed restaurant. It tasted nice and the atmosphere was good too. He and his brothers were joking around and his parents sometimes shaking their head or making comments bout that (well, they tried to translate some of it but most of it was joking around with his brother, like siblings normally do, you know. XD).
And...his parents gave me presents! >_<° As his brother did. I was like OMG!!!!!!! again. Because you know, it were not cheap ones, at least the one of his dad. O____O°°° *shocked but happy, of course*

Later this evening his family went off to their home wereas we went to enjoy a Thai massage. (which was REALLY nice~, I like this one a lot more than the one before. XD Also funny poses in there, haha.) I want to go there again!

3rd May

That Sunday was Andrew's dad's day off (afternoon) so it was only us 2 in the shop with customers/guests coming in occationally (because they know it's his dad's day off). His mom and dad went off to have some nice time in Taipei. (Actually that was when I started on this entry, lol)

When his parents came back, we went to pack our stuff to go to Sunview Motel (Hsinchu) and the week of traveling around Taiwan ahead. ^^
This evening also Meilin (finally able to meet her!!! :D) came by and off we went to that Motel. First we thought the restaurant we wanted to have dinner with Meilin was near but it was a few minutes away, in front of a lake (which was rather dry due to the hot weather). It was a very sophisticated one, I do believe, but very nice~

We had a nice chat with dear Meilin and took some pictures (of course). Having finished, we first drove to bring Meilin home and then entered the entry of Sunview Motel.
They had some barrier which we could only pass after they confirmed our reservation and checked his ID! lol

This Motel was one of the nicest and biggest I have ever been to (well, I have only been to Hotels in Germany and my image of a Motel is still one of  those old US-Movies

(like this:  )

...so I was like: O__o ...Motel?!?... but if you see the entrance, not even passing the barrier, you know that in Taiwan the word "Motel" means something else. Like a Hotel where you can park your car in a garage and then right away get into your secluded apartment (mostly). ( www.sun-motel.com.tw/ )

(the bed lol)

Really nice place, eh? XDD (well, it was not cheap either...but I didn't have to pay so... XD)

PS: I LOVE Bubble Tea: <3 <3 <3
